A Letter from John & Kelsey
Thanks for taking the time to view our profile! We are thrilled to embark on this journey of adoption and even more so to provide a loving home and support for your child along life’s journey. We love to spend time together as a family of three and enjoy baking, hiking, and swimming in our pool. We look forward to sharing their journey with you by email, letter, and visits.
We have always dreamed of adoption, even before marriage. Now we have been together for seven years, have a strong marriage and friendship, an amazing daughter named Harper who is two years old, and we are excited to grow our family through adoption. You can often find us baking together, attempting to make the world’s best chocolate chip cookies! When we aren’t baking, we enjoy fixing up furniture and working on house projects. We also love going on walks with Harper through the neighborhood, swimming in our pool, going on hikes, camping in New Hampshire, or heading to the beaches in North Carolina. We enjoy life and try not to take it too seriously. We especially love to have family dinners, play games, and sing together! We look forward to sharing our love for family time and all of our activities with your child.
John is an excellent provider as well as the most kind-hearted and compassionate man I know. Everyone who meets John thinks of him as “the jack of all trades.” He is a scientist, a cook, and a musician. You can often find him in the kitchen preparing a new meal for the family to enjoy. One of his favorite things is making waffles with Harper on Sunday mornings. John is also a lover of music. He is often playing the drums or his guitar around the house. He is so excited to show your child the fun of music and cooking! John prioritizes family time and loves playing outside with Harper. He is very excited the show our next child the joys of the outdoors.
Kelsey is an incredible mother, nurturer, and the rock of our family. In addition to her immense patience and kindness, Kelsey has a passion for design and keeps our home aesthetically and aromatically pleasing. We love it when she bakes her famous pumpkin bread or scones. She always finds time for writing in her journal and reading her Bible, which goes hand in hand with her focus on the important things in life. Kelsey is always finding fun things to do and make with Harper. Whether it’s playing with a new toy, making arts and crafts, or simply playing a fun game- she loves being a mom. She is excited to share her baking and passion for games and crafts with our next child.
Our daughter, Harper, is two-years-old and full of joy! She loves playing on her playset, going swimming, and drawing in the playroom. She also enjoys family walks in the neighborhood and saying “Hello!” to all the neighbors and their puppies. She loves playing with other kids- especially her six cousins who live nearby. She is excited to be a big sister and smiles every time we talk about her bring a big sister.
We have a great extended family on both sides of our families. Our nieces and nephews are always around for play dates and birthday parties. We enjoy seeing family often and making them part of our daily lives. Kelsey’s mom and dad also live close by and often stop by to spoil their grandchildren. John’s family lives in North Carolina but always come to visit for holidays and vacations with us, making sure we see them every other month.
We live in a wonderful three-bedroom house in a safe neighborhood. With an open concept layout and a living room with an over-sized sectional, we have tons of room for large family gatherings or lounging family movie nights. We have a bedroom already put together and ready for your child! We have a large, safe yard with a playground and pool, as well as a playroom with a reading nooks, art stations, and a train table for them to enjoy.
Our town has many young children and a fantastic school district. We also have a variety of activities like splash pads, playgrounds, parks, and miles of hiking trails. We also have a beautiful downtown with a local library that has great programming for children. The town also provides holiday and family events for us to enjoy!
We promise to provide your child with an environment that encourages education, is filled with love, and is founded in faith. We promise to give them life experiences, unconditional love, comfort, and a lifetime of family adventures. We promise to provide a safe and stable environment for your child to grow where they feel encouraged to be themselves. We promise to always talk highly of you and look forward to keeping an open relationship with you through the years.

More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
John loves to play music. He has played drums, guitar, and piano for over 15 years. He has used his talent to serve on the worship team at church. John also loves baking bread. His favorite things to bake are homemade bagels, sourdough bread, and pizza. John enjoys being outside playing basketball, tennis, soccer, or surfing. He also loves doing yard work like chopping wood for our fire pit out back where we enjoy s'mores or for our woodstove. John is a thinker, he loves reading all kinds of nonfiction books where he can learn and dig into new and exciting information.
Kelsey loves being outdoors. She enjoys gardening and takes great pride in her vegetable garden where she grows fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers! She enjoys family hikes on evenings or weekends. She also loves running around our neighborhood, star gazing at night by the fire, and baking sweets. Her favorite things to bake are pumpkin bread, apple crisp, and chocolate chip cookies. Additionally, she enjoys refurbishing furniture. You can often find her in the garage working on a new piece!
Our faith is the centerpiece of our household. We enjoy life and are thankful for each blessing God has provided for us. When things are tough, we dig deeper into the Bible and rely on prayer and our church community to help us through. We are actively involved in our church community where Kelsey attends a Women's group with Harper and a bible study. John has served on the worship team. Our church is 10 minutes from our home and we attend every Sunday and we enjoy seeing our friends in town. Our extended family also participates in a yearly Bible reading where we can encourage each other in faith and keep each other accountable. We also attend a Christian camp in New Hampshire for three weeks each summer where there is a beautiful lake and tons of fun family and children's activities all week long!
Our Musical Interest
Kelsey enjoys listening to a variety of Christian artists as well as some of her favorites like Ben Rector, Ron Pope, or Ed Sheeran. During the week, she keeps the music playing throughout the house, from her own favorites to kids' music that Harper loves. John is well versed in music and enjoys listening to just about anything! From indie artists like My Morning Jacket, Wilco, or Fleet Foxes to progressive jazz from like Snarky Puppy or Charlie Hunter, he is always introducing the family to a variety of artists. We will both encourage your child to listen, find their favorites, and explore music!
Our town is known for being one of the safest towns in Connecticut, with one of the top school districts. Our neighborhood has many young children that you will always see out riding bikes or going on walks with their friends or family. The town also has a splash pad, playgrounds, parks, and miles of hiking right around the corner. We also have a beautiful downtown with a local library that has great programming for children such as reading or music hour. The town also provides holiday and family events in the town square like movies and concerts on the green. One of our favorite things is how the downtown lights up for the holiday season and welcomes families to take part in activities like the Halloween parade and Christmas tree lighting. We're also a short 15-minute drive from neighboring towns with shopping, restaurants, petting zoos, apple orchards, and a children's museum!
Harper is a joyful little toddler who loves to play on her playset and go swimming in the pool. She also enjoys family walks in the neighborhood and saying “Hello!” to anyone or anything that passes by (i.e. neighbors, puppies, cars, etc.). Her favorite things are waffle mornings with her stuffed blue bunny who she calls “Mimi”. She enjoys arts and crafts too, such as playing with playdough or drawing on her chalkboard. Currently, her favorite songs are Twinkle Twinkle little star and Jesus loves me, especially when John plays the guitar along with her. Harper is surrounded in age by her six other cousins (ages newborn to five) who live close by. Harper loves to read and gets thrilled at the sight of new books. She loves attending reading hour at the library with Kelsey on Tuesdays where she can listen to a new story and dance along to music with the other kids. Most of all, Harper is thrilled at the thought of having a sibling to love and grow up with.
We live in the state of...
... Connecticut! Located about an hour outside of NYC, we can enjoy the perks of the city while living in a country setting. Connecticut is small enough to make trips from the mountains to the beach in under an hour, which we frequently capitalize on when the weather is right. Most importantly, CT has the BEST pizza! New York style was actually originated in CT, and there are plenty of pizzerias to prove it! In Connecticut, we experience cold winters where snowmen line the streets, hot summers where lounging by the pool feels wonderful, springtime where the woods come back to life after the winter and the beautiful colors of the fall foliage that adorns the landscape. All these features of Connecticut have led to some of our favorite family traditions like apple picking and pumpkin carving in the fall, cutting our own tree at Christmas time, seeking out the best of all pizza, and taking day trips to Long Island Sound to enjoy the beach.
