A Letter from Jason & Nicole
Hello from Colorado! We are a fun-loving and loyal family who enjoy traveling, BBQs, game nights, and movies. Every day we create lifelong memories and fall more in love with each other. We want nothing more than to share these memories and love with another child. Jason was adopted as an infant and understands fully the depth of love that comes from making an adoption decision. We would love to get to know you, the desires you have for your child, and are open to sharing photos, letters, and visits!
How we met, as told by Nicole: We met at a penny arcade in September 2013! We walked around town and then played old-time games like Pacman, Air Hockey, and Skeeball. Although we gave most of our winning tickets away to the children in the arcade, we saved some to get fake mustaches from the prize booth, which Jason proudly wore afterwards. Our marriage is built on love, respect, friendship, and a little bit of humor!
Why we chose adoption: On our first date we both talked about having a desire to adopt. Then at our wedding Jason’s adoptive parents and biological family met for the first time. It only reassured us that adoption was one of the ways we hoped to expand our family. Even after several losses and less than 1% chance of carrying a pregnancy to term, we were blessed with our daughter after three rounds of IVF. We feel confident that this is the right time to expand our family through adoption!
I was a high school math teacher, and student council advisor, for years before becoming an assistant principal of K-12 schools. I’ve been a principal for the past 9 years and I love it! I believe in the importance of education and ensuring that all students have the tools they need to be successful in life. I enjoy being an advocate for them!
What Jason Loves About Nicole: Nicole is the most selfless person that I know. Her willingness to put other people’s needs in front of her own is what makes her a great wife and mother. I love coming home and spending time with our family and the reason that is possible is because of the amazing life she has helped build for our family.
I work as a general manager for a rental organization. I go home every night knowing that someone has been helped and that I may have made someone’s day. I’m currently working on a bachelor degree in social work. As a veteran, I want to work with other veterans to get the help they need.
What Nicole Loves About Jason: Jason is a kind and patient husband. He is filled with hope and compassion. He is the dad who gets up in the middle of the night for feedings and changings, he snuggles, and reads bedtime stories. I love that he gets up to make Sunday breakfast for us, too! When he isn’t out skiing, fishing, and hiking, he is working on home improvement projects.
Meet Our Daughter: Journey is the sweetest girl! She is very happy and cuddly, and LOVES to see other babies (she always waves and blows kisses!). She will be a great big sister and is already good at sharing with other children.
Our Loved Ones: Nicole’s family lives near us in Colorado. Jason’s family lives in Arizona and Michigan. We travel to see each other often. We enjoy getting together with our immediate and extended families, whether it be for game nights, making big dinners, traveling, attending ball games, white water rafting, or baking holiday cookies.
We also have several lifelong friends who live nearby and have children. They are all supportive of our adoption and are ready to welcome a new member to the family.
OUR FAVORITE TRADITIONS
• Traveling to a new country, state and city each year
• Staying up late to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve
• Barbecuing and lighting fireworks with neighbors on Fourth of July
• Going to the pumpkin patch and animal farm during the fall
We reside in colorful Colorado on 1/3 of an acre in an intimate neighborhood. We are right outside the city and close to the mountains. We love that it is a quiet and safe neighborhood.
We have excellent schools and live just down the block from a little park. We have a room ready to be a nursery that we can’t wait to personalize for your child. Upstairs is a loft filled with bouncers, swings, and toys.
Our goal is to share all the wonders of life, provide educational opportunities, share family traditions, and bring your child up in a home filled with love and patience. We will show your child the love we have for each other as a couple, so that they know what a strong and committed relationship can be like.
We promise to protect them, give them a foundation for their faith, foster a strong sibling bond, and introduce them to new experiences. We will honor who they are as a unique individual and help them discover their dreams and passions. We are so blessed that you are considering us as adoptive parents for your child.
Thoughtfully, Jason & Nicole
