A Letter from Chase & Angie

Hello! We’re really excited to become first-time parents through adoption! We have been friends most of our lives, and we love doing everything together as a married couple. We enjoy cozy evenings with family: playing a game, reading a book, or singing together. Our home is frequently filled with music because we love writing and composing new worship songs.

God has put adoption on both of our hearts for many years. We’ve always wanted to adopt children. Our whole family is also looking forward to welcoming a child/children. We are open to letters, texts, photos, and occasional visits – we hope to make a plan with you so you and your child feel loved and secure.

Our Story

We met at a church youth group as teenagers. Over the years our friendship grew, and as adults we realized we were both falling in love with our best friend. Now we’ve been friends for 15 years, together for 5 years, and married for 3 years!

We spend most of our days together, whether we’re playing with our dog or singing worship songs. A few years ago, God called us back to the same church where we met, and we now lead the worship team there.

We both have had the opportunity to see how much joy adoption can bring. We’re so excited that God called us to adopt, and we’re looking forward to raising children together.

As a couple we enjoy:

  • Singing together, and writing songs
  • Home improvement projects
  • Cuddling with our dog
  • Playing board games
  • Watching classic movies
  • Cooking meals together

Meet Chase

Angie says: Chase is my favorite person! He is calm, caring, generous, easy-going, and faithful. He’s a hard worker and his heart shines through everything he does. I love seeing how good Chase is with kids. I enjoy his funny face contests with our nephews, and his impromptu songs for the little ones melt my heart. Chase is a musical soul. Every day he can be found playing the piano, composing new songs, or joyfully singing a worship song.

Chase works as a software engineer for a non-profit organization that defends children from human trafficking. Basically, he’s the Alfred to Batman – he builds technology to help the good guys.

I know that he will be a stable and loving father to our child. He will teach them about God, play music for them, and make them laugh.

Chase enjoys:

  • Piano and composing music
  • Deep conversations
  • Board games
  • Funny face contests
  • Racquetball
  • Playing with our dog

Meet Angie

Chase says: Angie is the most loving person I’ve ever met! She brings light into the room, and you can’t leave her presence without feeling like you’ve been given a warm hug. She has the gift of hospitality. She makes everyone feel warm, welcome, and fed. Angie absolutely adores children – I love the huge smile she gets whenever she holds a baby! Angie is a storyteller at heart, and she captivates our nieces and nephews with adventurous bedtime stories where they are the heroes.

Angie is thoughtful, empathetic, and has a big heart for serving others. She worked as a nanny, and she also cared for adults with disabilities. Currently, she volunteers at church as the worship leader and helps with administrative tasks.

She’s excited to transition into a stay-at-home mom! I know she will love your child with all her heart and show them how much Jesus loves them.

Angie enjoys:

  • Encouraging others
  • Singing
  • Cooking and baking
  • Grooming our dog
  • Strategy board games and video games

Our Big Family

Our siblings are some of our closest friends. They all live nearby, and we share weekly activities: going to church and the gym, movie nights, game days, dinners, and plenty of good conversations. This also means that we get to see our 16 nieces and nephews often! We have close bonds with them, and they’re looking forward to another cousin to play with.

Adoption is very familiar to Chase’s side of the family. He has siblings who are adopted, and his older brother has adopted multiple children. They are so excited for us and supportive of our journey.

Also, Angie’s parents are so excited to be grandparents for the first time. They’ve been helping us many weekends to paint our house and prepare the nursery. Angie’s mom is looking forward to knitting their traditional Christmas stocking.

Family traditions we want to share with our child:

  • Trips to the lake in the summer
  • Peach shortcake made from our peach tree
  • Making Thanksgiving candy turkeys
  • Matching Christmas PJs
  • Easter egg hunts

Our Home in California

We live in northern California in a bright, three-bedroom house in a beautiful neighborhood. We have a big backyard with fruit trees and lots of space to play. We are located in a cul-de-sac, and we are walking distance from parks, playgrounds, schools, and trails.

We have a friendly and lazy dog named Bentley, and we love playing with him in our yard. We also have many fun visitors: birds, squirrels, and sometimes turkeys. Occasionally, we get to see deer come and eat from our apple tree.

We chose this house because we grew up nearby and love the area. We’ve been putting together a nursery, and we can already imagine how great it will be to raise children here.

Our Promise to You

We promise to love your child with all our heart.

We promise to teach them about God’s love and who Jesus is.

We promise to speak respectfully and joyfully of you as their birth mother.

We promise to provide a safe, stable, loving home for them to grow in.

We promise to celebrate their milestones: birthdays, first steps, first day of school, graduations, and many more.

We promise to help them discover their interests and passions.

We promise to delight in your child.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. Please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Our Faith

Our relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in our lives. We are grateful for His love and grace, and we seek to love others by His example. We desire God’s will for our lives in all that we do, and we are so grateful that God has led us to adoption! We plan to teach our children about God’s love and how to love others.

We really enjoy our community at our small non-denominational church. We’ve been leading the worship ministry there for about 3 years, and we’ve developed close bonds with the people there. Our church family is full of adoptive families and adoptees, and they are so excited for us – they’ve been helping us prepare our home!

What Led Us to Adoption

We have had the desire to adopt in our hearts for most of our lives. Chase grew up with adopted siblings, and Angie nannied for adoptive families. We prayed for God’s direction in our lives, and we knew He was calling us to adopt.

We then connected with a close family friend who had made an adoption plan for her child. Hearing her story showed us the beauty of open adoption, and the security and peace that it can bring for a child. Connecting with her and the adoptive family gave us confidence in the direction God wants us to go. So here we are!

Our Plans for Education

We know that every child learns differently. We plan to adapt to our child’s personality so that they can thrive and grow in confidence and capabilities. We’re already thinking about different private and charter schools as options for them to attend, depending on their learning style and needs. We want them to pursue their passions and interests. We’ve already started a college savings fund, in case they wish to attend a university.

Our Dog

Bentley is a Newfoundland-Poodle mix. Newfoundlands are known as the “nanny dog” because of how good they are with kids, and we’ve seen it! Our nieces and nephews adore him, and he is gentle with everyone. He loves to "say hello" to visitors, and he loves sitting next to them for pets. Bentley is mellow, lazy, and sleeps in every day. He is goofy and we love him dearly.
