A Letter from Chris & Andrea

Hi! We’re excited to grow our family through adoption! We will provide a nurturing place to grow up, with a strong foundation built on warmth, stability, unconditional love, and lots of space to play. Andrea is a teacher with a natural ability to connect with children; Chris works in cybersecurity and has a passion for technology that he’ll be happy to help our children learn the latest things. We come from big families and have a supportive network of loved ones.

This year we had a surprise pregnancy, after being told we would never be able to conceive. Our son was born in Fall of 2023 and we love the thought of raising children close in age. Adoption has been on our hearts since we were dating and we’re excited to continue growing our family this way! We will commit to giving your child a safe, healthy, and fun home life. We also welcome the chance to maintain a relationship with you, if you’d like.

A Little About Us

How we met, as told by Andrea: We met online and bonded right away over chips and salsa on our first date. Our relationship started long distance and then Chris moved to Virginia before we were engaged. Even from the beginning, we shared values and goals for the future in common. We’re best friends and have been happily married about 5 years!

Together we enjoy:
• Neighborhood walks with our dog
• Hiking
• Trying new restaurants anywhere we are
• Cooking for loved ones
• Hosting bonfires, barbecues, and game nights
• Board games (we love Rummikube and Dutch Blitz!)
• Exploring by car, boat, or ATVs when we travel
• Finding landmarks to see in different states
• Tubing or boating at the lake
• Skiing and snowboarding
• DIY projects to remodel our home, redecorate, or build furniture
• Watching movies at home
• Volunteering or attending events at church

About Andrea

Chris says: Andrea is one of the most caring people I’ve met. She loves teaching and is excited to become a stay-at-home mom after we adopt. Andrea is always thinking of others and goes above and beyond to help them. I believe this quality will make her a great mother! Andrea looks forward to reading bedtime stories, sharing holiday traditions, and playing at the park with our future child.

Andrea likes:
• Decorating our home
• Gardening
• Making personalized crafts or gifts with my Cricut machine
• Reading a book by the pool

About Chris

Andrea says: Chris is an incredible person who brings so much joy and love into my life. He’s supportive, understanding, and treats others with kindness. Chris is always willing to go out of his way to help those in need. He works hard and has a great sense of humor. I know he’ll be the kind of dad who will run around the yard with our kids and share his many talents, nurturing nature, and patience as our children grow up.

Chris likes:
• Wood working or making things with my hands
• Building a home project or Lego set
• Grilling
• Playing golf

Our Home in Virginia

Living in Virginia, we get a little bit of everything from city to country life. It’s easy to drive to explore the mountains or make a day trip to the beach. There are great schools here and the neighborhoods around us are safe and a good place to raise a family. We enjoy the parks, farmers markets, playgrounds, swimming pools, and tennis or basketball courts nearby.

Our home is in the suburbs and has three levels with four bedrooms. We have a fenced-in backyard with a screened-in porch and a stone patio (perfect for bonfires!). We’re on a cul-de-sac and have a walking path right next to our home that we enjoy for dog walks and bike rides.

Our Dog: We have a lovable Australian Shepherd named Milo. He likes to drop his ball outside our fence so that the neighborhood kids find it and come in to the yard to play with him!

Family & Friends

We both come from big families who we see often! Most of Andrea’s family lives in Virginia, and she has a sister in New York. Chris has two sisters in New York, one in Maryland, and a brother in Georgia. Our families try to get everyone together at least once a year. Between us we have 12 nieces and nephews, so there are a lot of cousins for our future child to play with!

We also have a wonderful group of friends who have young children. We enjoy weekends together and taking turns watching each other’s pets or children, as needed.

A Promise from Our Hearts

Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your precious child. We would be honored to welcome him or her into our family!

We promise to:
• Give your child every opportunity to discover their dreams and talents.
• Provide our constant support and devotion.
• Create a Christ-centered home with strong morals and a respect for others.
• Share updates, photos, and occasional visits with you to maintain an open adoption, if you wish.
• Be open and honest as your child grows up so that they know their story and how we all came together through adoption.
• Raise your child to know how special you will always be to our family.

We’d love to know more about you and the hopes you have for your child. To talk with us please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

More About Our Family
Why We're Hoping to Adopt

{As told by Chris} We have always wanted a family and adoption became something we talked about while dating. In trying to have a baby, we’ve had difficulty getting pregnant. Then one Sunday at church, we heard an amazing story about adoption and we both felt God calling us to start the process ourselves. After we started the adoption process we found out Andrea was pregnant for the first time and our baby is due Fall of 2023. We still believe adoption is meant to be a part of our family's story and we are excited about adopting a child and raising our children close in age.

Our Values

• Letting our Christian faith guide our decisions
• Quality time together and nurturing our relationship
• Open communication, compassion, care, and love as partners
• Respecting others and doing what is right
• Finding the joy in making any experience fun!

Traditions We Love

• Big family holiday get-togethers (last year we had BOTH sides of our family together for Thanksgiving!)
• Family vacations for summer or spring break
• Exploring D.C. or other landmarks on bikes or electric scooters
• Yearly beach trips

Fun Facts

Andrea: I love to dance and will be the first on the dance floor! I also love animals and if there is a pet nearby, I will always be found loving on that animal.

Chris: I know a lot about cutting down trees! I like to help my friends when they need to take a tree down on their property (and they are always surprised that I know how!).
